Overview

This committee operates under the policies and procedures established by the Water For People organization in Denver. Water For People was founded in 1991 by AWWA to help developing countries improve the quality of life by supporting sustainable drinking water, sanitation and hygiene projects. Water For People provides funding and technical assistance using an extensive network of volunteers, donors and partner organizations. With the commitment to help people help themselves, Water For People has supported over 500 projects in 40 countries worldwide.

The Florida Section is prominently named as a top Water For People fundraising committee. The advertisement was featured in February 2011 AWWA Journal. For copy of advertisement - CLICK HERE

We thank everyone who worked hard to support Water For People. If you haven’t had a chance, please read the article titled “Florida’s Water Associations Raise $80,000+ in 2008 to Aid Water For People” in the February 2009 issue of the Florida Water Resources Journal and “Finding New Partners for Clean Water / Sanitation / Hygiene Projects in Developing Countries” in the April 2009 issue of this Journal.
